Accounting & payroll

We help clients to manage their accounting and payroll functions in a host of different ways - you choose how best we can help you.

Contact Chris Jones on 0113 297 6704 or c.jones@sagars.co.uk for more information.

Managed book-keeping service

If you’d really like an in-house book-keeper or accountant who’s never ill, never takes a holiday (and who has training, support and back up to make sure they’re as effective and efficient as possible), then our managed book-keeping service could be for you.

We can provide secure remote access to your accounting package through our ‘terminal server’ technology. We do all the work at our offices and you can access the information at any time via a secure internet link.

Alternatively, we provide more traditional book-keeping services at your premises or ours for a fixed monthly fee.

Management accounts

There are a good many business owners kept awake at night, not knowing where they stand with respect to their business’ performance and financial status. For any business bigger than the proverbial one man and his dog, it’s really not an option to rely solely on gut feel. If you’re not getting reliable, valuable information in a format that you can understand (and soon enough to be useful), we can help.

What you include in your management accounts is up to you. There will be some fundamental basics of course and we can talk you through some ideas to include less obvious financial and non-financial indicators of performance and likely future trends.

You may want us to work with you to develop accounting systems and reports for your team to use. Alternatively, we can accurately and promptly prepare the figures for you from your financial records; analyse your results and offer you an outsider’s view on your performance.

Payroll

Outsourcing routine tasks, such as payroll, means you have more time to focus on your business and ensures that you won’t fall foul of detailed payroll regulations. Our experienced payroll team keeps up-to-date with the ever-changing legislation and offers a full payroll service.

We can deal with your entire payroll processing or just help you out with your year-end procedures or PAYE administration. Talk to us about your situation and the available options that we can provide.

Statutory accounts

Your annual accounts must comply with required accounting standards and principles, and those statutory accounts filed at Companies House must be put together in a prescribed format and with a number of specific notes and ‘disclosures’. We can prepare your annual accounts for you from your accounting records to make sure you stay on the right side of the legislation and submit your accounts on time.

Further financial management support

For wider involvement, such as putting together budgets, forecasts and projections or perhaps training in financial matters for you and your team, have a look at our ‘business help’ section.
